santalina – Zodiac Matches Illustrations
 

For santalina, a young Hamburg brand creating refined objects for the home, I illustrated all twelve zodiac signs by hand. They decorate a collection of premium matchboxes, finished with elegant partial varnish and a special tactile touch.

Our goal was a fresh take on the zodiac, one that feels far from typical esoteric imagery. The result is a set of unseen figures, each developed individually with care and sensitivity. Purely black and white, the illustrations play with soft, rounded shapes and intriguing negative space, turning an everyday object into a small piece of design.
